10 Online Threats against the Girl Child
a call for parental and pastoral control!
The World Wide Web is gradually turning into a wicked wild world. The girl child is facing dangerous threats to her life everyday on the internet. The advent of mobile devices with internet connectivity for social networks has greatly increased these dangers. In fact, the more social networks she joins the more the danger she faces. There seems to be a fight to take over her social and moral life daily. It is sad to see that the church had ignorantly allowed the devil to keep winning this fight. However, we are here to awaken our spirit and put an end to this satanic victory with the mandate of Jesus Christ for the salvation of the child girl. To call for urgent parental and pastoral control, I will be highlighting 10 threats that face the girl child daily on the internet; they include:
Pornography – This has been noted as the number one activity on the internet. Try typing “how to…” on the google search engine, you will be shocked to see Read More …
Freedom from digital vices and addictions
By Pastor Osiri Wisdom
Addiction defined.
1. Addiction is a brain disorder characterized by a loss of control. Addicts continue their use despite adverse health, social or legal consequences.
2. Compulsive behaviors despite consequence in a bid to re-experience the initial thrill or highness.
3. It is a progressive disease, with the user needing a larger quantity / frequency of substance, environment or persons to achieve tolerance and dependency effect.
Please note, Addiction is a DISORDER not a DISEASE.
Again the personality of Addiction is NEUTRAL. Meaning you can be addicted to anything. In fact, in the general sense of the word, addiction is universal. People are addicted to things, places and feelings. So, addiction in a sense is not bad, what is wrong is what each person is addicted to. So we have Negative addictions (Rom. 7:15) and Positive addictions – (Matt. 6:33).
The Struggle for Dominance
There is a constant struggle to maintain order and balance. The negative influence and the positive influence are always in an intense struggle for dominance. Read this:
Galatians 5:16-21 (KJV)
16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17[For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.] 18[But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.] 19[Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are ] these[; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,] 20[Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,] 21[Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told ] you[ in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.]
Addiction to vices are classified as negative. I life that is full of these negative addictive behavior is a life without boundaries. A life without respect for laws and rules. A life of unbridled attitudes, actions and affections. A life that is not sensitive to others. What we call negative addictive behaviors are therefore fruits of a life that has no respect for boundaries.
Conference 2013 Director’s Welcome Address
by Evangelist Emeka Ogbuju
The Web Missions Africa is a strong passion for me and the Internet Missions Conference 2013 (Africa edition) is one of its foremost fulfillments to me unto God’s glory! Web Missions Africa is focused on digital evangelical revolution for the church in the new millennium. Doing outreaches on the internet is our goal and winning souls through the cyber is our mandate. We achieve this through implementing online platforms for churches and ministries and hosting conferences that stress on freedom from electronic vices like pornography and internet crimes. We have great testimonies from our seminar presentations at various places all over Nigeria and are covering other African nations indeed. This conference is in line with the annual Digital Outreach Month (in April) and the Global Internet Evangelism Day coordinated by our mentor and coach Tony Whittaker. It is a great opportunity for us to make more impact and train more web evangelists who will take this gospel further online. Quality research papers will be presented around the concepts of the computer technology, internet facilities and the church. A fine mix of young worshippers will be delivering on Digital Praise Jams with a liberating festival. I believe the entire program has been packaged to bless the church in Nigeria and Africa at large. Relax in God’s presence and enjoy every session. Read More …
