About
Who we are and what we do!
We are a distinctive Christian mission group doing evangelism on the Internet. The main difference between us and the conventional mission agencies is that while they travel with the gospel to various nations and cultures, we are doing ours through the internet. In fact, our slogan says ‘how beautiful on the ‘nets’ are the fingers of those that brings the good news’
Web Missions International provide resources from diverse online missions for Christians in their daily witness and encourage them to get involved in using the Internet and the websites/blogs we create, to reach the lost in everyday life on the World Wide Web (Luke 14:23).
We also do a computer/internet-based mission training with the sole vision of raising web-evangelists to spread the gospel through online outreaches. This vision has been mostly achieved through offering Certificate in Internet Evangelism and Cybermission in a workshop organized for Churches, Ministries, and Bible colleges in Conferences and Seminars. We do introductory and advanced training which cover lectures in Web Ministry, Cyberspace management and Media missions. These training offer applied experience in General Computer/Web Management exclusively for Christian organizations for the purpose of evangelism and growth. Apart from using this experience for online evangelism, our Successful participants may progress to work as E-commerce Consultants or Independent Freelance Developers and earn money designing websites for Organizations and Businesses. They may add to their name the “CWME” tag – Certified Web Missions Evangelist.
Our Vision: To be the leading Christian Internet Missions Agency from Africa taking the gospel to the nations of the world without restrictions
Our Commission: The Holy Spirit said to us “The Internet is the modern chariot that shall carry the old time gospel presence; it shall anchor the new age evangelical leadership. Make my presence fill the internet as the waters cover the sea and there shall be a heavy dominance of my power for the coming world harvest” and this is our mission today!
Our Background: The impact of the computer technology has fast grown far above the radio, television and print media areas of witnessing in recent times with several advantages. Internet Evangelism and Cybermission has been practiced since 1992 following the advent of the Internet. Today, as the knowledge and usage of the internet increases, this area of mission has equally increased especially in the Western world. In 2006, the Webpulpit from Nigeria cued in and started pioneering the establishment of digital missions through the internet all over Africa through our annual Internet Missions Conference in Africa (IMCA). We believe that engaging with you using real live examples of effective evangelism on the Internet will stir you up to see the potential of using the World Wide Web to evangelize. This will impact not only people on the other side of the continents, but people in your own community. To achieve this, we collaborate with organizations to train Christian leaders and Ministers in the art of ministering online.
Our Aims and Objectives:
- To encourage embracing the computer and internet technology for the sake of soul winning
- To build required expertise and promote a “do-it-yourself” approach in the design and implementation of Web-based missions
- To minimize the cost implications of acquiring a digital mission platform
- To equip Christians for evangelism in this modern age of the Internet
- To see the church built spiritually and numerically through the use of social media networks.
Our Mandate: We found that there are over 2 billion web users, and over 4 billion people use mobile phones (mostly on internet-enabled network). The Web is a hyper-medium that links together and enhances all previous media of communications in the world today. It was reported that 150,000 of these people die every DAY, 107 every minute! In Web Missions International, our mandate is to reach at least 100 people with the gospel in 60 seconds everyday! God has given us the WWW as a “door of utterance” for the gospel (Colossians 4:3). Jesus said, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the entire world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14). In the parable of the banquet he also said, “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” (Luke 14:23). Digital Outreach is taking the gospel of the kingdom to the nations of the world through the highways and byways of the World Wide Web. Jesus said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). We are inviting you to come fishing with us on the World Wide Web. This is an invitation and opportunity for individuals and congregations to take the gospel to the nations. The nations include those who live in the community in which you live and not just the Internet community. Why not join this chariot and win at least 100 souls for Jesus TODAY!
